This is especially great when you’re looking for ideas on where to go to eat and drink, and don’t want to stray too far from where you’re staying, or where you happen to be right then.
Like a Local. Similar to above, this app features tours, reviews, and insider trips for 223 cities across the globe. This app looks to be perfect if you’re looking for a fab local coffee shop to hang out in, the best cakes in town, or somewhere with an awesome happy hour.
ChefsFeed. A restaurant guide app populated by recommendations from real chefs in dozens of cities. This is one for those who aren’t content to trust the judgement of random strangers as to where they should eat in a city!
Gravy. This location based app helps you find stuff going on close by, and filters that stuff according to the mood you say that you are in (such as Brainy, Classy, Brainy, Playtime), or else you can choose by category.
Field Trip. This rather cool Google app runs in the background of your phone and sends you alerts when you’re near cool stuff that fits whatever criteria you’ve given it to work with. It pulls information from other useful apps such as TimeOut, Flavorpill, and Thrillest to give excellent recommendations.
Sit or Squat. Quite possibly the most practical and essential of all travel apps, especially if you’re travelling with small children or have a weak bladder, is this one that tells you what public bathrooms are nearby. Bathrooms are given reviews by users, so you know what to expect before you get there in terms of cleanliness and comfort.
