Try something new this summer: 5 Awesome Winnipeg Attractions

Published on July 16, 2015 by Roseman

Now that summer is finally here and we’re all feeling groovy, are you up for an adventure? There are plenty of awesome Winnipeg attractions available this summer to take you outside of your comfort zone and allow you to try something new. Here are five worth checking out:

Climbing and zip-lining at Adrenaline Adventures If you love a physical challenge and aren’t bothered by heights, then tackling a two story high ropes and climbing course should be right up your alley. There’s more than 1500 square feet of climbing surface to clamber up, three zip-lines, a vertical playground, and a challenging cargo net course to negotiate.

Take dance lessons at Winnipeg Tango Club Whether you’ve never danced before or already have a basic understanding of how to tango, the Winnipeg Tango Club puts on plenty of classes and events to help you at your level. Your first tango lesson is free, and they welcome singles (so no worries if you can’t convince your partner to come with you).

Bounce yourself silly at Sky Zone Trampoline Park This massive indoor trampoline park is filled with bouncy surfaces for you flip and catapult yourself around on. Super fun, and great exercise, you can just go and jump, sign up for a trampoline workout class, or even join in with a scheduled game of ultimate dodgeball – how much fun would that be?

Learn what’s SUP with Hardcore Paddleboards Drive an hour outside of Winnipeg and you’ll find the white sandy beaches and dunes of Grand Beach Provincial Park, where you can meet up with the folks from Hardcore Paddleboards at their surf shack and enlist for a SUP (stand-up paddleboarding) lesson. This fairly new sport is pretty easy to get the hang of, and really fun. Getting out on the water in the summer is THE BEST, so why not give it a try.

Take a clowning or aerial yoga class at Monica’s Danz Gym There are a couple of places in Winnipeg where you can pick up circus skills and learn acrobatics, but this dance school in the city has some really cool sounding classes that will push your body, and increase your confidence, in ways you may never have considered before. If you’ve always been fascinated by clowns you can learn how to do make-up, mime, and create your own comedy routines here. If clowns are your worst nightmare, then just come to one of the classes that will get you stretching in completely new ways as you soar through the use of specially made yoga hammocks.

Whatever you’re looking to do in Winnipeg, come stay in one of our beautifully appointed executive suites so you’ve got the perfect place to relax once the adventure is over.
