Winter in the ‘Peg can be cruel, but there are some really cool places to hang out and warm up by the fire with a drink and hot meal So, with the lyrics to Let It Snow in mind, Oh the weather outside is frightful, but the fire is so delightful, check out these great Winnipeg restaurants with Fireplaces to hang out at in cold weather:

Confusion Corner Bar and Grill The fireplace at Confusion Corner is the centrepiece to their restaurant, and the star attraction (though it’s a sports bar too, so a good place to watch the hockey if you need a nice spot). Here you’ll find rib-sticking comfort food like meatloaf and prime-rib poutine, and although it’s pretty casual you’ll find plenty of hip urbanites hanging out here after work and at weekends.

The Round Table As soon as you see the faux Tudor frontage of this steakhouse/ British pub, you get a good idea of what awaits inside. Think dark wood panels, stained-glass, and of course a roaring fireplace. The Round Table has been serving up steak in Winnipeg for 40 years, and it is something that they do right.

Earls at St Vital This popular chain restaurant has not one but five fireplaces for you hang out by, and although yes, you can get the same menu anywhere else in Canada, serves up consistently good food and drinks (so it is always a safe bet for a hot date or a business meeting). Also, the decor here is really nice – so it’s a cool spot to check out.

Blaze Bistro and Lounge  Housed in the Delta Winnipeg, this lounge is a great spot to head for a fine buffet breakfast, or drinks and appetizers late night. The fireplace is designer-y and pretty to sit beside. They also have great happy hour specials.
