Five Romantic Ways to Celebrate Valentines Day in Calgary

If you’re staying in Calgary for February the 14th, then hopefully you’re spending the day with your valentine. If so, we’ve got some fun suggestions of how to celebrate Valentines Day in Calgary .

Go Dog Sledding. Take a drive to Canmore (just over an hour’s drive) and take a tour with Howling Dog Tours. You can snuggle up under blankets in the sled with your honey while the dogs take you on an exhilarating ride through the romantic wilderness of the Canadian Rockies. Afterwards, head to Tapas, which was voted the most romantic restaurant in the Rockies and enjoy their specially prepared Valentines menu.

Eat a little fondue together. At the Laurier Lounge you can share lots of gorgeous food as they offer a fabulous small plate menu (if fondue isn’t your thing they also have tasty items such as wild boar sausages, seared scallops, and pawns in garlic cheese sauce). Then, treat yourselves to chocolate fondue that comes served with banana bread and fruit for dipping, or Crepe Suzette to get really fancy. And of course you have to top all that excess off with a boozy coffee too.

Geek out together. On February 12th (a few days early I know) there’s an adults only event at Telus Spark called Love and Hate, where you can do fun stuff like deconstruct a sheep’s heart, hack a sex toy (!) and get science based relationship advice. And all this comes with full bar service – what fun! Buy advance tickets to be sure to secure your spot.

Make an awesome dinner together. Yes, you could make a feast in your fully equipped kitchen in one of our suites, but if you want to elevate your cooking skills as a couple, why not take a special Valentines cooking class at SAITs Culinary Campus and enjoy the gourmet feast you prepare together in their cozy in-house restaurant.

Or be served an epic feast. At Alloy, you can enjoy an absolutely amazing five course Valentines menu that includes delicious dishes such as fennel crusted albacore tuna, seared duck, lobster, and chocolate pate. You may be good for nothing more than collapsing in bed afterwards, but you’ll fall asleep full and happy.
